KNUST Makes Progress To develop Bio-Based Power System

wame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has launched a project to develop a simple, efficient and sustainable electricity generation technology for use in rural and urban communities.

It focusses on developing microbial fuel cell technology to generate electricity and support wastewater treatment.

The project is being jointly undertaken by the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University and the Center for Bioprocess Engineering, DTU Denmark.

Danish Agency for International Development (DANIDA) is funding it with US$500,000, according to the 2015 Research Report of the KNUST.
