Purpose: ESCMID Young Scientist members (35 years-of-age or younger), who wish to attend the 28th ECCMID in Madrid, may apply for support. Abstracts are evaluated by blind review and on this basis, up to 100 abstracts with the highest scores are offered free registration. Of these individuals, an additional travel grant is awarded to those with the highest scores.

Funding: A travel grant will include full registration to the congress and a travel allowance amounting to EUR 500 (paid in cash onsite against presentation of an identity card or passport).

Field of interest: Infectious Diseases, clinical microbiology

Eligibility criteria: Travel grants and free registrations are both conditional upon the acceptance of an abstract. The applicant must be presenting author of an abstract submitted for the 28th ECCMID and as well as an ESCMID Young Scientist member (35 years-of-age or younger).

Deadline: The application for ECCMID 2018 travel grants will open on the 4th of September 2017 and end on the 30th of November 2017
