Open Call for Knowledge Transfer – STREAMING Project
The Office of Grants and Research (OGR), KNUST, invites interested researchers, academic departments, centres, and partner institutions to apply for the Open Call for Knowledge Transfer under the STREAMING Project.
This call seeks to fund the development of practical, digital training programmes aimed at strengthening sustainable food trade systems across Africa and Europe. A total of 11 grants, each worth €25,000, will be awarded to support innovative, practice-oriented digital courses.
The initiative promotes collaboration between researchers and end users, including farmers, processors, start-ups, and public health actors.
Scope of the Call
Selected projects will design and deliver interactive digital training courses that translate research and innovation into practical knowledge for:

Farmers and producers

Food processors
-
Start-ups and entrepreneurs
-
Public health stakeholders
A key priority of this call is women’s empowerment. Proposed courses should intentionally target and support:

Women farmers
-
Women entrepreneurs and innovators
-
Women-led processing enterprises
Thematic Areas
Proposals should focus on innovations and capacity building in one or more of the following areas:

Traceability in food supply chains
-
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)
-
Nutritional requirements
-
Reduction of micronutrient deficiencies
-
Food waste reduction
-
Sustainable farming systems
-
Food safety
-
Scaling innovations in food supply chains
Eligibility
Eligible Third Parties include:
-
Research institutions and universities
-
NGOs and industry partners
-
Innovation hubs, business schools, and vocational colleges
-
Consortia involving partners from Africa and Europe
At least 60% of total funding will be allocated to African Third Parties. Special encouragement is given to women-led organisations and female innovators.
Applicants may be based in any country and are not limited to STREAMING partner countries.
