APPLICATIONS are invited from suitably qualified PERSONS at KNUST for appointment as Research Faculty at 20% FTE as Technical Advisors and Researchers at the Center for Applied Research and Innovation in Supply Chain-Africa (CARISCA) within KNUST School of Business. This position is contingent on grant funding. The present grant end date is June 3, 2025.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum qualifications

  • PhD in health/agriculture supply chain and logistics management or related disciplines

Additional/Desired qualifications

  • International development and research network experience
  • Google Workspace experience
  • Mixed-method research design experience

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Contribute to developing strategies and research on supply chain innovation and technology at the CARISCA Centre in consultation with the Centre Director;
  2. Promote and advance research-led education in supply chain innovation and technology;
  3. Provide technical support to Senior Technical Advisors (STAs) to develop and obtain necessary approvals for academic curriculum for healthcare/agricultural supply chain innovation and technology;
  4. Support the STAs to define supply chain innovation and technology research agenda for CARISCA, and actively participate in the conduct of such research;
  5. Work with the STAs to develop strategies to raise the profile of supply chain innovation and technology research in the wider health/agriculture supply chain research community as well as provide leadership and direction to post-doctoral researchers, postgraduate students and research assistants/associates in the conduct of research;
  6. Support the STAs to identify sources of external funding for research, write grant applications to support healthcare/agriculture supply chain innovation and technology research, produce abstracts for national and international presentation and write peer-reviewed papers on relevant topics and other impactful publications (Manuals, Tools, Policy Briefs, Articles for the Print Media);
  7. Participate actively as member of interdisciplinary research teams and play a mentorship role to ensure constant development of the team members’ research skills.
  8. Collaborate with the STA on Gender to ensure that female and other disadvantaged groups are fully and equitably involved in all Health supply chain innovation and technology activities;
  9. Participate fully in assigned Faculty Research Team projects and assignments
