The Office of Grants and Research (OGR), KNUST wishes to inform the university community of a targeted dental research funding opportunity: the David Steflik Memorial Student Research Grants offered by the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Foundation (AAIDF).

These grants honor Dr. David Steflik, a pioneer in dental implantology, and provide support for dental students, post-graduate, and residency program participants conducting meritorious dental implant research.

  • Award Amount: Up to USD 7,000 for student research; up to USD 32,500 for dental implant research projects

  • Eligibility: Dental students in post-graduate and residency programs only; no funding for dental patients


Objectives:

  • Support early-stage research to determine feasibility of larger projects.

  • Fund small clinical or animal research projects and analysis of data for implant dentistry.

  • Provide opportunities for grantees to present findings at the AAID Annual Conference with travel reimbursement up to USD 1,500 starting 2026.
