E.W. "Al" Thrasher Awards
The Office of Grants and Research (OGR), KNUST, invites eligible researchers to apply for funding under the E.W. "Al" Thrasher Awards programme.
The programme, funded by the Thrasher Research Fund, supports projects that are transforming pediatric clinical care. Each award encourages novel approaches to challenges within pediatrics and is open to applications on any pediatric disease or topic, both within and outside the United States.

General Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Propose a project with a clear focus on advancing pediatric clinical care

Demonstrate potential for innovative solutions to pediatric health challenges

Be able to manage the proposed research project and meet reporting requirements

Projects may focus on:

Clinical Medicine

Maternal Health

Medical Effectiveness & Patient Outcomes

Paediatrics

Surgery & Intensive Care
General Exclusions
The following are not eligible for funding:

Projects without a clear pediatric focus

Purely theoretical or descriptive studies with no clinical application

Only one application per funding cycle is permitted per applicant

Awardees must provide progress reports and final reports as required by the Thrasher Research Fund
