Kurt Tucholsky Scholarship for Literature and Journalism
The Office of Grants and Research (OGR), KNUST, invites eligible doctoral researchers to apply for the Kurt Tucholsky Scholarship for Literature and Journalism.
The scholarship is offered by the Kurt Tucholsky Foundation, in cooperation with the German Literature Archive in Marbach, to support doctoral research focused on the work, ideas, and intellectual legacy of Kurt Tucholsky, as well as related topics in literature, journalism, and the social sciences.
The programme provides two international doctoral scholarships each year to support scholars undertaking research in relevant disciplines.
Funding Support
Successful applicants will receive:

€1,000 per month for a period of one year

Funding is intended to support a one-year research stay
Please note that travel expenses are not reimbursed separately under this programme.
General Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Be doctoral candidates (PhD students) conducting research related to Kurt Tucholsky or related fields

Be enrolled in, or conducting research within, one of the following disciplines:

German Studies
-
Journalism
-
Sociology
-
Political Science
-
-
Propose a research project that engages with the literary, political, or journalistic contributions of Kurt Tucholsky
Mobility Requirement
The scholarship supports international research mobility, specifically:

Foreign doctoral students undertaking a one-year research stay in Germany, or
-
German doctoral students undertaking a one-year research stay abroad
Important Notes

Two scholarships are awarded annually.

Each scholarship is tenable for one year.

Monthly stipend: €1,000
-
Travel costs are not covered under the programme.
