Purpose: Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position working with Stephan Mandt and Padhraic Smyth at the University of California, Irvine. Research topics of interest include but are not limited to deep learning and probabilistic modelling, variational inference, deep sequential models, neural point processes and neural compression.

Eligibility

  • The position is looking for researchers with a PhD in machine learning, statistics, mathematics, physics, or in a related field.
  • The successful candidate has a strong track record including publications in top-tier journals/conference proceedings such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, UAI, AISTATS or JMLR, as well as strong mathematical and programming skills.
  • Salary to be between $65,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
